Before the virus, Ram had a very loving and doting family. His parents were always proud of him, and why not? He had graduated college when he was 12. Because of the difference in intellect between Ram and his peers, he had kept to his family and himself. He helped his mother bake and played catch with his father in the backyard. He loved his parents more than anything.

After the virus hit, Ram was devastated. Everything he had ever known was taken from him and he had to learn to get by through depending only on himself. Ram found experiments his father had started in the basement laboratory of their home and improved on them, making them functional. With his new "toys", Ram decided it was time to go out and make some friends. Those who didn't submit to his ways were killed. However, those who did answer to his whims received his trust.

The emotional shock of losing his family left him yearning for a return to the days before the virus, so much so that he created an imaginary world on the computer where he could actually do just that. While performing experiments with VR on himself, Ram tried to fly and jumped from a building, seriously injuring his legs. Even though the injury only occurred in VR, his brain thought that it had happened in reality. He lost the use of his perfectly good legs because his brain thought that they were damaged. No longer able to walk, he developed an electronic wheelchair. He didn't see this as a hindrance, in fact, it gave him an even more sinister appearance, which Ram loved.

A childhood prodigy, everyone recognized Ram as a visionary and genius - none more so than himself. Some, however, viewed him as an evil genius, with good reason. At the height of his power he was well known to have a crass disregard for the lives and welfare of others. He had directed experiments on unwilling human subjects. There was a time when not living up to Ram's expectations would be a fatal mistake, even for his dedicated followers. Despite his disability, he had been a formidable opponent who controlled a large army. However, his organizational, mathematical, technical and computer genius had also been used for good. It is because of him that the city has water, electricity, medical supplies, and a food supply.

Eccentric and brilliant in equal measure, Ram has, as always, the potential for great things. The one time leader of the Technos has once again fallen far from a great height, but that is not where his story ends. He feels like a different man now, as if he doesn't even know himself. Every day when he wakes up he has to remind himself that he can walk. The whole world is a different place and he still hasn't really gotten adjusted to his new life. He has lost control over so many people since his fall from power, his whole world seems to have slipped through his fingers. Can Ram ever get back the power that he has lost? Ever get back the control he needs to turn the world into his vision of the future? Surely if he had been able to do it as an invalid, he could do it again now that he is able bodied.

Jay, one of his most trusted friends, left him because Ram didn't carry through on his promises of creating a better way of life for the city through proper health care, schools, libraries, resources for the people. One of Ram's wives, Siva, left him for a Virt. Another of his wives, Ebony, ran off with Jay. His other wife, Java, sister of Ebony and Siva, is still seemingly loyal to him, even now that he is virtually powerless. Ved has been there for him too, saving him, helping him to rehabilitate his body and his mind. Ram moved into an abandoned apartment building with Ved on the edge of the city initially. He felt deep gratitude to Ved for his help; he'd helped him even when Ram no longer had anything to hold over his head, even though he had lost Ved's girlfriend in his Games, and Ved helped him get back something that he thought he'd lost forever. Thanks to him, Ram is no longer an invalid, no longer bound to a wheelchair, no longer dependent on others for every little thing. He's also freed him from his germ phobia, which was as great a gift as the gift of personal mobility. Sure, there are still others of his corp who are still committed to him, still willing to have him as their leader, but none of them took the risk to save him from the rubbish tip and nurse him back to health. Ved has now moved on to live in the mall.

Publicly using the name Gabe while wearing virt clothing, a simple hairstyle, and different markings, he has taken up the ways of cooking he had learned years ago from his mother, as well as the style of tinkering with electronics he had learned from his father. These, of course, had not been exercised in a while, he'd always had someone who would do these things for him. He just had to give a simple order, and he could have anything that he wanted. Not anymore, Ram, Lord of the Technos, has been reduced to the lifestyle of a Virt.

Ram has his markings and hair similar to this. The markings are silver and orange/yellow stripes on his cheekbones and his hair is red-streaked and un-gelled.
